Lean On Me

Upon waking this morning, I realized I already had one of those...
"Let Go, Let God" moments.

I had an "issue" that I felt was more than I knew what to do with.  I was anxious about it and all I could say was... "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus".  Upon going to Him with this new issue and telling Him how weary and tired I was, I sensed him to say...

"Give it all to Me.  Lay it at My feet.  I want you to step out of the way.  Let Me handle it from this point on.  Did you not just write in a previous post, "Let Go, Let God"?  Then, practice what you preach."

I was told to open my "Jesus Calling" devotional to page 188, 188, 188.  I heard it three times.   I usually don't get actual page numbers.  However, here is page 188 in "Jesus Calling"...

"June 29 - As you get out of bed in the morning, be aware of My Presence with you.  You may not be thinking clearly yet, but I am.  Your early morning thoughts tend to be anxious ones until you get connected with Me.  Invite Me into your thoughts by whispering My Name.  Suddenly your day brightens and feels more user-friendly.  You cannot dread a day that is vibrant with My Presence."

"You gain confidence through knowing that I am with you that you face nothing alone.  Anxiety stems from asking the wrong questions: "If such and such happens, can I handle it?"  The true question is not whether you can cope with whatever happens, but whether you and I together can handle anything that occurs.  It is this you-and-I-together factor that gives you confidence to face the day cheerfully."

"In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly."
Psalm 5:3

This morning at mass I continued my conversation with Jesus about this certain "issue".  He continued to tell me to give it to him.  To "Let Go, Let God".  Then, I sensed Him telling me this...

"Soon, sooner than you think, I will need you.  So many of my children have no idea of what is coming to this earth.  When all begins happening, many will crumble.  I will then need you to be walking in My footsteps on this earth. My children will crumble and I will need you.  I am raising up a people unto Myself."

"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again; and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, you may be also."
John 14:3

WoW!  We all need God... but the God of all the Universe also needs... us!  It is this you-and-I-together factor.

Then I was nudged to open the Spirit and Song Hymnal randomly.  I opened to the song, "Lean on Me", by Bill Withers.  As I am reading the lyrics, I hear in my spirit... "Look at the song number."  The song number is... 188! The same page number I was told to open my "Jesus Calling" devotional to this morning!

While reading the lyrics, I noticed how the song is about needing each other.  You need me, but the time may come when I will need you.  Here again it's this you-and-I-together factor."  Here are the lyrics to "Lean on Me"...

Sometimes in our lives, we all have pain, we all have sorrow
But if we are wise, we know that there's always tomorrow

Lean on me when you're not strong
I'll be your friend I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long 'til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on.

Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won't let show.

You just call on me, brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you'll undestand
We all need somebody to lean on.

Lean on me when you're not strong
And I'll be your friend I'll help you carry on
For it won't be long 'til I'm gonna need
Somebody to lean on.

If there is a load you have to bear
That you can't carry I'm right up the road
I'll share your load if you just call me.
(End)

As I was finishing up this post, the television was on the Sports Channel.  Before going to a break, they played a snippet from a secular song called "Lean On".  The words in this small snippet of the song was...

"All we need is somebody to lean on."...

and then it went to the commercial break.  You just can't make this stuff up!  At least I can't!

Before I began this post today I asked Jesus if He wanted me to make a post about today's happenings.  I heard His reply to be...

"Write your story."

And... that I am!
