From Darkness to Light

"I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life."
John 8:12

This world is chuck full of uncertainties.  It is chaotic and out of control.  Just take a good look at the elections.  As I was pondering all this, I sensed the Lord telling me to be at peace and know that He is in control.  That we are His and He will never leave us.  Never!  That the promises that He has given us are true and will come to fruition.  To not let the enemy make us feel unworthy of His love.  Or that we're not doing enough and thus disqualified.  It's a fearful world we live in. But, we must remember that fear is not from God, but of the enemy.

I sensed He assured me that we are safe in His arms.  That He holds onto us much tighter than we've ever held onto our own children.  That we are His children and the wicked will be punished and purged from the earth.

Then I opened my Everyday In His Presence (Charles F. Stanley) to this...

"From Darkness to Light (Pg. 317) Is there an area of darkness in your life, something that continually causes you fear, such as the future or a challenge you must face?  Do not despair.  The Father wants to relieve the dread you feel by shedding light on your circumstances.

Remember, in the beginning it was God who spoke light into existence, and He did it before creating the sun, moon, and stars (Genesis 1).  This is because His very presence gives light (Revelation 22:5) not just physical radiance, but spiritual illumination.

Of course, you may wish to overcome the uncertainty you feel by seeking your own solutions.  Just understand that only God is light.  And when you fight the dark with more darkness, all you get is deep despair.

Friend, God wants you to see not just the path ahead, but the profound spiritual realities that are affecting your life.  He is ready to help you!  So when you sense the dark fears encroaching, run to Him.  Because when He is your light, you will have nothing to dread."

"In His Presence... the darkness flees."

Also, let us not forget the Poor Souls in Purgatory.  They need our prayers.
